EsthetixMD medical spa is a BOTOX Top 500 provider, reflecting our experience with this simple, cost-effective procedure that delivers dramatic wrinkle reduction.
Worry lines, frown lines, laugh or smile lines, crow’s feet; these are all “dynamic” wrinkles caused from years of living and using facial muscles to show expression. At our office in Bend Botox injections safely, effectively soften lines, and reduce wrinkles. While it’s not magic, Botox can restore some youthfulness to your appearance.
FDA-approved for cosmetic treatments.
BOTOX is a purified protein with a 15-year history in the therapeutic treatment of a variety of medical conditions.
Since 2002 it has been FDA-approved for cosmetic treatments. BOTOX works differently than dermal fillers. It inhibits the transmission of chemicals that cause muscle contraction. For example, it is used for chemical brow lifts by preventing the action of the muscles that push the brows down. Uneven brows can be balanced, as the muscles that lift the brow engage while others relax. With BOTOX Bend patients can enjoy a successful treatment for:
Treatment is quick, taking 30 minutes or less, and improvement is rapid, within days of your injection. Progressive improvement may be seen as the skin relaxes and becomes smoother. There is no downtime from this quick, simple treatment; you’ll resume normal activity immediately. Expect results to last several months. Your clinician may recommend BOTOX injections as an adjunct to dermal filler treatment in order to reduce the contraction of certain muscles. The intent of prior injections is to prevent “creasing” of the dermal filler solution. The synergistic effect between BOTOX and filler products often prolongs the results of treatment.
One of Botox’s biggest draws is the simplicity of the procedure. When you arrive at EsthetixMD for your Botox appointment, a treatment plan will be in place based on information shared during your consultation.
Your Botox specialist will thoroughly cleanse the treatment area, and a topical numbing cream may be applied if desired. If you opt for an anesthetic, injections will begin after it has taken effect. Your specialist will use an ultra-fine needle to strategically inject the Botox solution into the muscles that contribute to dynamic wrinkles. The number of injections you will receive is dependent upon your unique needs.
Smaller areas (like the corners of the eyes where crow’s feet form) may only need two or three injections, while larger areas (like the forehead) may require as many as five or six injections. Injections are fast, and within just a few minutes, you will be able to get back to your day!
Pro Tip: Engage targeted muscles immediately after treatment to encourage the Botox solution to settle precisely where it’s needed. As you move the treated muscles, the product will naturally disperse throughout the target area for optimal results.
There is no downtime, though there are some precautions that will maximize your results. It is important to avoid rubbing the treatment area 24 to 48 hours after Botox to prevent the solution from traveling to other places.
Touching the treatment area may introduce bacteria and cause infection. You should avoid lying down for four hours, and you should not exercise for 24 hours. For 48 hours, you should avoid exposure to heat which may worsen bruising and swelling. Examples of things to avoid are hot weather, strenuous exercise, saunas, sunbeds, and alcohol consumption. Some patients experience very mild swelling, tenderness, or redness around injection sites. These conditions will subside within a few hours in most cases.
You will start to notice a difference in the appearance of treated wrinkles within just a few days. However, complete results will take one to two weeks to develop. Results typically last three to four months and can be maintained with follow-up treatment.

Botox is an excellent treatment option for healthy men and women who want to treat or prevent dynamic wrinkles. Patients should also understand how Botox works, the specific conditions that it treats, and what is realistically achievable with treatment. However, Botox cannot provide results comparable to more involved procedures such as a facelift or eyelift. Alternative treatments may better serve patients with significant drooping in the face.
The most common side effects of Botox are associated with injection sites and may include swelling, redness, tenderness, bleeding, bruising, or infection. Most of these side effects will subside without intervention within a few hours to a day or two, though infections may require treatment. Other possible side effects of Botox are muscle weakness, itching, headache, muscle stiffness, neck or back pain, shortness of breath, upset stomach, fever, cough, sore throat, and allergic reaction.
No. However, the reappearance of wrinkles after Botox dissolves in the body may seem worse in contrast to the skin’s smoother appearance under the effect of treatment.
