Your Laser Genesis session begins with cleansing and evaluation. After a microscopic examination to determine the condition of the skin, the technician recommends a treatment plan. She explains the procedure and answers your questions.

While the laser device is robust, the actual handpiece is small and quiet. Your eyes are protected from the light, and the technician moves the applicator back and forth over the treatment area, slightly above the surface. There is no direct contact with the skin. Full face treatment usually goes from cheek to chin, other side of the face, and nose, ending with the forehead. You feel a sensation of therapeutic warmth, but it is quite tolerable – topical anesthetic and cooling gel is not necessary. You may catch a whiff of heat but be assured it is not your skin burning; just peach fuzz. You may choose to add an exfoliating dermaplane treatment prior to Laser Genesis for better penetration and to remove fine facial hair.

Most patients see improvement immediately after the first session. Skin feels tighter, pores look smaller, and acne scars are lighter. Over the course of your treatment plan, progress continues as collagen builds and skin tone evens out.
