What Is Juvederm?

Juvederm is manufactured by Allergan, the makers of Botox. It is a collection of FDA approved hyaluronic acid fillers designed to add volume to targeted areas of the face.

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in the skin. It adds moisture and volume to the skin. When we age, we lose the moisture and volume. Juvederm helps restore the volume that has been lost naturally through the aging process and gives patients long-lasting results.

How Does It Work?

As the newest addition, Juvederm Vollure XC is a gel injected into the skin to soften moderate to severe facial lines for a smoother appearance.

It is often used to fill deeper lines such as the nasolabial folds or marionette lines around the nose, mouth, and chin. With age, our skin loses volume and elasticity which then contributes to the formation of lines.

When injecting Juvederm Vollure XC Bend patients will get added fullness to the skin of the treatment area. As part of the XC line, this filler contains lidocaine making the treatment more tolerable for patients.
